Talk about digging deep...

As many know, the Adcenter has been having a small battle with VCU regarding the purchase and revamping of the Carriage House below the Jefferson Hotel.

Apparently, Rick Boyko has put his money where his mouth, and hand out hand, is.

Rick and wife Barbara have given $1,000,000 to the Adcenter!

I think many of us would have settled for free soda, snacks, ping pong balls and print credits!

Let's join the effort. Anyone got change for a five dollar bill?

Just keeping you all in the loop:)

Digging deeper (in my desk)...

Ok so I was sitting at my desk today thinking that maybe, just maybe it is time to look through my drawers and start emptying some things out that never belonged to me. Well...wouldn't you know it I sit at Joe Nio's old desk and sure enough I start digging through a drawer of very odd things.
Wham--I see Johanna's name, then wham Kevin's name, then wham Kate's name and so on. I'm thinking to myself its 1215pm on a Tue am I having some type of Adcenter flashback? I realize I have come across a goldmine of VCU Adcenter INTERNSHIP books from our class--remember the stuff you guys created at the end of 2005?? Well it's here in all its glory, the uncompleted, the unfinished and the unrefined versions of each of you who applied for an internship at lovely Ogilvy in Chicago.
Don't worry Ill toss them out you guys have come a million miles from that point.
Hope everyone is doing WONDERFUL!!!

This is funny...

#$%& IKEA

I would like to go on the Official I HATE IKEA list. I have disliked them from the time they went to their new format, but now, after dealing with them as well, I WILL NEVER RETURN. I will also launch a personal campaign to damage the crap out of their name in every classroom I walk in to as well as in any conversation about them. The main problem is that everything I have bought there in the past two trips have had parts missing. After a forty-five minute drive both ways, slogging through the three DIFFERENT shopping experiences (showroom, products and furniture pick-up) trying to find the most insignificant stocked items amidst the maze of warehoused products, dealing with idiot personnel who could care less, finding half of it out of stock and no idea when it will come in and the finally, pulling the right -- hopefully things -- waiting in line FOREVER, only to get home to find that some of the things aren't in the box.... well can you spell E-X-P-L-O-S-I-O-N? Then try and work with their customer service and have the wrong stuff shipped to you 10 - I say, 10 days later. I WILL NEVER GO BACK.

OK I feel better. I hate them. Worse than Exxon.
