Anybody know the best way to hard boil and egg? Yes. I'm serious. I think i did it wrong because the shell didn't peel away very easily. BUT, i got Egglands Best - it tasted non-eggy. Awesome.
STEP 1: Place the egg in a saucepan. STEP 2: Run cold water into the saucepan until the water is 1 inch above the egg. STEP 3: Place the saucepan on a stove and cook over medium heat until the water begins to boil. STEP 4: Reduce the heat to low. STEP 5: Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes for soft-boiled eggs or 10 to 15 minutes for hard-boiled eggs. STEP 6: Remove the egg with a spoon or ladle and let it cool slowly, or run cold water over it to cool it more quickly.
To peel...crack on all sides, roll egg between hands to loosen the shell, and then remove it.
I tried to make egg salad yesterday. I did not cook the eggs long enough. The yokes were gooey, so I scooped them out and made egg-white salad instead.
I learned that the yolk is important.
Egg-white salad is very slimey.
Usually, I make them the way Kumar said, except I actually use the timer. 12 minutes for eggs straight out of the fridge. And I cool them in a bowl of ice water.

step 1. find the loneliest bar in town
step 2. go there alone
step 3. start crying
step 4. drink until you start yelling
if you don't get kicked out, you're in the right place, bars like this always have hard boiled eggs
boiled eggs smell like farts. that's why i love them so much.
sometimes if you don't boil them long enough, the shell is hard to remove.
also, did you put the egg in before or after the water started boiling? i think that makes a difference.

May your eggs not be slimey!
I just buy hard-boiled eggs, they take too much time and effort
